Welcome to the Margres Lab website. The lab is located in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of South Florida where we address fundamental questions regarding adaptation dynamics in two co-evolving systems: (1) Tasmanian devils and a species-specific transmissible cancer, and (2) venomous snakes and their prey. Research in both systems involves the integration of diverse -omic approaches with phenotypic data, ecology, field work, and experimentation to better understand the genotype-phenotype-fitness connection in natural populations. Read more about our research, current members of the lab, our involvement with USF Genomics, and recent news. Also check out our most recently published work. Prospective undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral associates are encouraged to contact Dr. Margres directly.
